Avro Lancashire
Serving The Aviation Enthusiast For 35 Years
Avro Lancashire caters mainly for the military aviation enthusiast although civil aviation features from time to time. Regular meetings are held at the Lightning Club on the BAE SYSTEMS airfield at Warton, near Blackpool. Normally these meetings are held on the last Thursday in every month, commencing at 19:30 hours. Because of its location, membership of the club is mainly of interest to people living in the Lancashire area but others are more than welcome.
  • The Club has been fortunate to have been able to develop close ties with BAE SYSTEMS flying and ground staff, both past and present, who give of their time to come and talk to us. Speakers from other areas also come along to talk to us. A quick look via the link on the left to our programme of events will let you see the variety and quality of speakers we have
  • We have talks on other matters connected with aviation, such as Air Traffic Control, Hot Air Ballooning, etc.
  • The showing of videos with an aviation theme also form part of our activities
  • In the past we have organised trips to airshows at Mildenhall (end of May) and the Royal International Air Tattoo (mid-July). Trips to air bases and air museums have also been arranged from time to time. Unfortunately, support for this type of activity has not been forthcoming in recent years but it remains our hope that we can start to organise trips again
